                            Elon Musk’s mistakes and pitfalls

 

 

 “Elon Musk”… who in this world don’t know him. He is an  inventor,entrepreneur,CEO  of top selling car company Tesla , also the founder, CEO and chief engineer of spacex and also the owner of Twitter ! And of course a billionare . He have achieved a lot but…..he have made a lot of mistakes when it comes to his decisions.

Rejection from netcafe

 

In the year 1995 Musk got curious about the internet company    Netcafé ,he wanted to work there with them but the company rejected him , because he was an introvert and he was too shy to talk with the people there .

Removed from the position of CEO of zip2

In the year 1995 Musk and his brother found a company zip2.The company was doing great under Musk's leadership. Board members claimed Musk lacked sufficient practical skill for CEO duties, so he was ineligible. The board also saw his inexperience of being an CEO and appointed another CEO as a result.

   Problem at Paypal

Musk created a company called x.com which later renamed as Paypal. In the year 2000,  Elon Musk got the position of CEO of the company ,he was managing it well. Unix and windows were the two popular operating system of that time, and eventually it caused an conflict between Elon Musk and the CTO of the company over what to use Unix or Windows as the main operating system , shortly after that, Musk was removed from the position of CEO.

Rejection from Russia -Ballistic Missiles deal



Back in 2001 Elon thought of an idea to grow plants in the soil of Mars .He got excited prepared his idea with his team members . And flew to Moscow to find Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) which are capable of sending required payloads to the space. They had meetings with a number of companies there but all denied Musk's offer . Later after 6 months a company offered him a rocket for 8 million dollars , which was expensive so Elon dropped the deal .

Failure of spacex rockets



#   In the year 2006 the first spacex lunch failed miserably due to a rusty nut, it exploded after 33 seconds of the lunch

#   In the year 2007, the engine shut down prematurely and it ended as an absolute failure

  # In the year 2008 , the two parts of the rocket separated and one of those part spinned vigorously and lead to failure.

 #  In the year 2015 , the rocket busted into fragments and completely vaporises moments soon after the lunch .

 #  In the year 2016, spacex witnessed an exploration of the vehicle during fueling.

 

Bankruptcy of Tesla

                                                                 


*   Roadster was a electric car  , it was the first ever electric car built by Tesla . Although the car could go 200 miles on a single charge and having a maximum speed of 250 miles per hour , it was expensive ! cost of the car was $109,000.And they had expected that the development cost will be around $25 million but it got around $140 million.As an result they only delivered 2500 cars .


*   In the year 2008 , the company was left with only $9 million, in order to run the company Elon fired 25 % of the total employees. However later the company managed to get 40 million dollars from an investment.


    Model S   

*   It was a sedan , Although it could go 300 miles in a single charge ,but the buyers complained about lack of parking sensors and cruise control and the interior was not upto the mark in the  earlier versions.So the sell of the car dropped down.

Model 3

*   In the year 2016 , Tesla released model 3 and  the pre-orders reached to  nearly 400,000 .So Tesla started upgrading the production process still fell short to deliver the cars on time . Due to the inconvenience of the supply process Tesla lost $1 billion in the year 2019.
